Capability Summary:


WPL, Inc. (WPL), founded in 1978, is a qualified Small Business with an experienced staff of systems and security engineers that support multiple technical efforts across the Department of Defense (DoD). Our core expertise lies in Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3). 

CORE CAPABILITIES: 

  • Systems and Security Engineering Support for the space, ground, and terminal segments of the Milstar, Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF), Enhanced Polar System (EPS) and EPS-replacement systems. 
  • Operational Support: Evaluate mission effectiveness of SATCOM and Terrestrial systems and provide technical architecture consultation for NC3 systems, operational configurations, and specialized studies. 
  • Training: Develop and administer materials, and courses for operations of Milstar and AEHF communication planning systems. 
  • Sustainment Engineering: Apply extensive experience to day-to-day operations, sustainment, interoperability, and integration of current and future MILSATCOM, NC3, and Cryptographic Systems architectures and capabilities. 
  • Systems Approach: Investigate and resolve issues using a broad understanding of SATCOM satellite, terminal, and control systems; including baseband equipment, database and planning information. 
  • Integration and Testing: Support integration, test, and sustainment of current and future AEHF/MILSATCOM terminals and subsystems within both a laboratory environment and operational mission locations. 
  • Technical Consultation for Operations: Support effective development of Allied, Coalition, and NATO architectures and concept of operations. 
  • Identification and resolution of current operational and proposed future MILSATCOM and NC3 Systems’ architecture gaps, interoperability and integration challenges and potential problem areas. 
  • Assessment and analysis of MILSATCOM and NC3 system modifications, enhancements, maintenance, and advanced programs. To include evaluating potential impacts of technology insertion on systems, operations, system architectures, and mission effective capabilities. 
  • Emerging Mission Support: Ability to develop, manage, and implement solutions for complex architectures. WPL is leading the effort of a Future North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) protected SATCOM architecture. Beginning with concept development, through systems design, to fielding of a multi-service/multi-national capability. 
  • International Partners (IP) Operational Support: Support IP on training, use and engineering of AEHF operationally focused services utilizing the Mission Planning Element (MPE) and other engineering tools locally developed. Support includes the operations of Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT) and Secure Mobile Anti-Jam Reliable Tactical-Terminal (SMART-T).
